Scope of Position The scope of the position includes time in various settings, but not limited to physician clinical services, surgical services, athletic training services, educational requirements, and research. The Clinical Athletic Trainer Resident will work within their scope of practice as outlined by the Athletic Trainers Board of the State of Ohio and under the credentialing guidelines of The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. Position Summary The Clinical AT resident works under the general supervision of the Physicians and Physician Assistants and directly reports to the Sports Medicine Athletic Training Manager, Practice Director, and Senior Leadership of Ohio State Sports Medicine. The Clinical AT Resident works with program faculty and mentors to ensure a compliant and monitored work experience. The Clinical AT resident may serve the department in a variety of duties including physician clinic support, surgery, community education, and other responsibilities as deemed necessary by physicians, physician assistants, or Ohio State Sports Medicine leadership. Education and Experience Athletic Training Certification (A.T.C.) and Licensure by the State of Ohio Athletic Training Board. Master?s degree preferred. Previous experience working with athletic populations and CPR certification required. Candidate is eligible to sit for the certified orthopaedic technologist exam, and preferred completion through the NBCOT before start date.
